Many diets do work but that one does not, and I think you just need to research more. Dear Buzzfeed, stop telling people it's okay to be fat, it's not. It's unhealthy and is linked to so many body dysfunctions. Just, stop it. idontreallywantachan November 16, 2017 Just remember this is coming from a channel that claimed telling someone who is morbidly obese and dying that they are fat and need to be better to themselves is fat shaming, violence, and one of the worst things you can do. All you have to do is balance your food diet and exercise while maintaining a certain level of calories. And yes overly skinny isn't ideal but neither is what you consider "curvy" which is more likely 200 pounds overweight PurelyRed November 16, 2017 This girl is so ignorant and the fact that shes trying to sound so smart is making me cringe Diamondboy Gaming November 16, 2017 Every time im on a diet and when i see pizza or junk food i eat it Leslie Nordman November 16, 2017 Dude, get ur facts right. Portion control, space in between meals, healthy food, and excersise al together is what dieting is. What ur talking about it ONLY portion control, and extreme portion control. Eaat right, excersise, dont snack, and dont eat too much and u will indeed lose weight. Annali Flores November 16, 2017 Just stop eating added sugar eddebrock November 16, 2017 So really, dieting doesn't make you gain weight, being an idiot does. Pixel Solia November 16, 2017 It is just calories… The reasons certain diets 'work' is by either cutting highly caloric food out (carbs are high in calories), adding in higher-volume/lower cal food in addition to your normal intake to feed you (eating grapefruit with every meal may make you fuller), replacing what would've been a higher-calorie meal with something lower cal (banana + skim milk instead of pancakes/toast/eggs/orange juice/etc). Just count calories in general while trying some healthier options (pop tarts are good, but not so good for you). Also, Buzzfeed, stop pushing the HAES. Difference between "slightly overweight" (I see your annoyed air quotes) and obese. Getting tired of how some of these videos are sounding, push some actual information of how to healthily lose weight or why things work/don't work, rather than just going, "omg it can make you gain weight". There is no 'starvation mode' in the sense it keeps being used (you genuinely have to hit anorexia levels of starving, hard), there is no 'set point'. It is calories. You eat 2000 calories per day, you'll stop gaining weight when that becomes your TDEE from having to lug around so much extra fat on your body. Alternatively, if you are morbidly obese, you'll stop losing weight when that becomes your new TDEE. Bryant Nelson November 16, 2017 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgxaqucM2u0&t=341s Just made my response video Kendyl Bobbie November 16, 2017 Okay I fasted (700 calories) every day. I cheated once a week with one high calorie meal but not binge the whole day. When I got down from 195 to 135, i started adding 100 calories a day every week till I got back to 2000/day. If I have a cheat day , I’ll fast for two days top to balance my self out, after a fasting day the next day would be 1200 then 1500 then back to 2000. When I fasted, I hardly exercised but when I did, it was 30 minutes max. I walk a lot for my job so that helped. I unfortunately gained 10 lbs solely from having too many cheat days and not enough fasting days to makeup for it. I’m fairly happy with my body right now but every so often I’ll fast here and there before an event with food so I don’t move up on the scale but rather stay the same. So I’m just maintaining right now. My credentials are that I am a certified personal trainer, CNA and student Nurse. I know the body and how it works but diets are subjective and everyone’s body responds differently . My advice is after a “crash” diet is to ease back into eating an appropriate amount of calories , frequently see a dr or nutritionist , take multi vitamins , and do what I called “maintenance” and fast every so often Callie C November 16, 2017 Don't diet just eat healthy stuff and exercise Glaciated Luxray November 16, 2017 1. You’re confusing dieting and starvation. Dieting and starvation are 2 completely different concepts. 2. You claim all diets are bad by pulling up some crazy diets that exclude certain food groups or are just plain odd. 3. You claim that before the 60’s men liked thick women but went on the show some women that are considered skinny to me. 4. Our society likes thin bodies because it’s healthy and is a good sign of fertility.
