I work in the scientific field, and it could just be that sterotypically…science geeks aren't into appearance, but I don't feel that societal pressure to look a certain way when I go to work. As long as I have appropriate clothes on to work in a lab setting, they couldn't care less about what color your hair is, what you've done with it, whether you have on makeup, or have tattoos. It's so nice to be able to live my life, succeed and do well without having to worry about my appearance.
