Being a predominantly white country, obviously its going to be a predominantly white cast. Stop trying to make EVERYTHING a race issue. Also, these looks were so weak. And what was with the whole filming from the side thing? Brooke Palmieri May 6, 2017 the Luna Lovegood look reminded me more of Alice in Wonderland. hallie459 May 6, 2017 honestly why do you care if there aren't enough asians or European or dark skinned? I'm not trying to be racist, but it's just a book and movie calm down. and that one line though. "There's one Asian girl but she's Chinese" tf.Muggles are humans. you are basically a muggle rn. calm down. Patrick Chula May 6, 2017 I loveeeeee Harry Potter….but "people of color"……IT TAKES PLACE IN ENGLAND!!!! Look up their demographics. BIOnerd93 May 6, 2017 There was an egyptian judge at the world cup Tea Leaf May 6, 2017 DEAL WITH IT PEOPLE! HOGWARTS WAS IN EUROPE! THE LAND OF THE WHITE! GO ASK JK IF THERE IS A ASIAN OR AFRICAN OR SCHOOL FOR WIZARDS! if you would actually dig into your culture and heritage, there would be a lot of interesting stories about magic and fairytales, way wilder than Harry Potter. m marper May 6, 2017 Am I the only one who doesn't like Luna? PurpleFish8 May 6, 2017 I agree with the many of the other comments. The only lgbt+ representation was Dumbledore but that was not mentioned in the books or films and you don't see me bitching about it. It's all about what you imagine the characters to be like! And the franchise/setting is British so the characters are mostly going to be British. The only thing I would say is it was quite white washed. Ravenphin May 6, 2017 12,368,000th sub Kummii May 6, 2017 "But I'm filipino" yeah, yeah, you totally have someone to relate to now Clim8 Change May 6, 2017 It's really lame complaining about not enough representation of all colors in every freakin movie… HP world was a story about European people who are predominantly white that happened in a European country with predominantly white people. How can you expect it to believable if the movie makers heavily considered representations of color? If this happen in a story that was made in Asia, would you appreciate it if you'll see the number of asian characters are equally the same as the number of characters of each race? Hannah Mullane May 6, 2017 The editing for the final products were horrible, I'm sorry thrice bang May 6, 2017 race race race gender race Orlliv May 6, 2017 Did I imagine Sue Li? Everyone is mentioning Cho or Padma and Parvati but no one is talking about Sue who was definitely there and definitely Asian. I mean it's not going to help the girl who wants to relate to a character purely on looks and shared ethnicity but it does add at least one more person to the list. Holly Leonardo da Vinci May 6, 2017 this is so disappointing Cy By May 6, 2017 the thumbnail looked like skeet ulrich Heather Easton May 6, 2017 bloody hell why do you care so much about representation when Hogwarts is in England? Most of the nationalities mentioned don't really have a huge representation because there aren't a lot to represent. I can understand the want of more black people or for example Indian people since they actually are in England. Also if you don't feel represented in the west then go back to your roots and look into the other film industries. Nicole AJ May 6, 2017 So now you are just gonna slap "race" into this. Wtf. xoxChloe May 6, 2017 Okay buzzfeed, we get it. The media isn't diverse enough, it really isn't, but there's a difference between advocating for diversity and just nitpicking every little thing. You know what? There's never going to be a tv show or movie that represents everyone. You can try your hardest, but you can't fit everyone in. Harry Potter is a wonderful creation that raised children into accepting people. THE WHOLE STORY IS ABOUT DEFEATING OPPRESSION. So please buzzfeed, know that not every video needs to be about social injustices, even though it's and important issue.
